The Painted Panda returns for its sixth appearance at the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. While the menu this year remains almost identical to the 2022 menu, a new beer and canned cocktail were added to the beverages lineup.

General Tso’s Chicken Shumai – $10.75

Tremendous! They’re sweet and spicy, and chock-full of chicken. A great value, absolutely worth trying.

Char Siu Pork Bun – $8.50

This was a disappointing offering. The meat is dry, bland, and very overcooked. There was almost no sauce on the pork, which was sorely missed in this dish. It would have at least made it edible.

“Panda” Bubble Milk Tea with Black Tea, Milk, Chocolate and Tapioca Boba Pearls – $8.75

This milk tea is fantastic. It’s sweet, but not overly so, and the boba pearls provide a licorice-like flavor to counter the milk. It’ll certainly help with anything spicy!

*NEW* Lucky Foo Pale Ale, Lakeland, FL (6.0% ABV) – $5.25 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.

According to Untappd, this is “an American India Pale Ale brewed with 2-Row, crystal malts and dry hopped with Simcoe hops and conditioned on lychee.”

*NEW* Silk Road Hard Lemonade with Smirnoff Vodka ($11/bottle), Lavender-Coconut Syrup and Lemonade – $13.50

This mostly tastes like a standard lemonade.

It was way too sweet, though that might just be the sugar rim. We couldn’t taste any alcohol or any other flavors from the vodka coming through, only the lavender.

The lavender syrup they use overpowers every other flavor in this drink. There’s not a strong lemon or coconut to this. We don’t recommend getting this.

Sea Butterfly: Butterfly Pea Flower-infused Cocktail with Smirnoff Vodka ($11/bottle), Light Rum, Lychee Syrup and Magic Boba Pearls – $13.75

If you have never had a butterfly pea flower… then you’re probably like the rest of us. But don’t be daunted! This floral-tasting cocktail is refreshing and not as overly complicated as the description makes it out to be. It’s clean, crisp and hits the spot on a warm Florida day.

The 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is running from January 13 to February 20, 2023.

While the offerings available at The Painted Panda aren’t new, we do love nearly everything available at this booth and recommend grabbing a bite if you’re in the China pavilion.
