Mint Julep Bar and French Market Restaurant will be closed starting tomorrow, February 17, for the latter to become Tiana’s Palace. Mint Julep Bar will reopen as-is after the refurbishment is done, but during the closure, Mickey beignets and mint juleps will be available at Royal Street Veranda.

Royal Street Veranda is a quick-service window on the opposite side of New Orleans Square from Mint Julep Bar, right next to Pirates of the Caribbean.

The exact length of the Mint Julep Bar closure has not been announced but is currently scheduled through at least March 30, which is as far as the Disneyland Resort calendar currently goes. The refurbishment is expected to last longer but Tiana’s Palace is scheduled to open this year.

Tiana’s Palace will not be a character dining location but Tiana will meet guests in New Orleans Square. The quick-service restaurant will offer authentic New Orleans flavors inspired by Tiana’s friends and adventures, expanding on the current restaurant’s menu.

Disney Imagineers are partnering with Disney Animation artists from “The Princess and the Frog” to bring Tiana’s Palace to life. The film’s designers actually took inspiration from the exterior of the original French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square when designing Tiana’s Palace.

A closure date has not been announced for Splash Mountain, which will be transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, though the attraction has already closed at Magic Kingdom in Florida. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is still expected to open in late 2024 on both coasts. Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, also inspired by “The Princess and the Frog,” is currently open in New Orleans Square.
