Guests can conjure up the vengeful Tiki Goddess Uh-Oa with a new, second-edition Uh-Oa Souvenir Tiki Bowl, now available at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Room at the Disneyland Hotel.
Whisper Uh-Oa’s name (or order the signature drink) and a thunderstorm erupts within the Enchanted Tiki Bar. Cast Members and guests in the know will chant Uh-Oa’s name after a spritz from a spray bottle of water sets the events in motion. When the chanting ends, the signature Uh-Oa! drink arrives. A blend of rums, POG juice, pineapple, grapefruit, and lime juices are garnished with a dash of cinnamon, fresh limes, and cherries, and served in the souvenir tiki bowl. The drink is meant to be shared by two or more guests, and costs $63, mug included.
The tiki bowl itself is an imperfect triangular shape featuring a greenish-blue glaze. Referred to as the “Drummer Tiki Mug”, this souvenir bowl features totem poles on each corner and Polynesian carving-inspired drummers on each side.
We’ve seen plenty of new tiki mugs around these past few months. In January, we saw a refresh of the Copper & Gray Piranha Tiki Mug and the HippopotoMai-Tai mug was also updated at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. While this new Tiki Mug is officially branded as the “Second Edition”, this is actually the fifth release of Uh-Oa at the Disneyland Resort.
A drummer sits front and center on one side, featuring a horned mask. The design is meant to resemble a traditional tiki, which is a Polynesian symbol that was often worshipped, feared, or both. Uh-Oa, herself, is colloquially known as the fictional tiki goddess of disaster.
On each of the other two sides, our drummer is depicted using his side profiles. The tiki mask on the drum is incredibly detailed.
