Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a permit for the site of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, which is currently under construction.
The permit is for “Fabrication and Installation of Show Set Items” and contracts Icarus Exhibits, Inc. The specialty fabrications shop also worked on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, TRON Lightcycle Run, and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Set installation could be for the ride’s interior, and, therefore not visible, but the Tiana’s Foods water tower is also set to be installed soon. According to concept art and the model displayed at D23 Expo, the water tower will be topped with a piece resembling Tiana’s tiara.
A fake photo previously released by Disney of Tiana, Naveen, and the Tiana’s Foods team shows the tiara topper being installed. Tiana’s Foods signs are on the construction walls surrounding Splash Mountain.
Splash Mountain closed permanently in January at Walt Disney World and is scheduled to close in May at Disneyland. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to replace both versions of the attraction in 2024. The Splash Mountain tree is currently being cut down atop the attraction. It was originally included in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure concept art, but as the story changed, the tree was removed from the concept.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure takes place after the events of “The Princess and the Frog.” Tiana’s Foods is an employee-owned community food co-op established by Tiana in 1927, following the success of her restaurant, Tiana’s Palace. The co-op is housed inside a salt mine, with growers planting crops along the old Splash Mountain waterway. Guests will ascend through a mill house built into the side of the mountain.
The attraction will follow Tiana venturing into the bayou to find animal friends. She’s hosting a party for the people of New Orleans, but it’s missing a special ingredient. Some of the original cast will be providing their voices to the attraction, including Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Bruno Campos (Naveen), Michael Leon Wooley (Louis), and Jennifer Lewis (Mama Odie).

More “The Princess and the Frog” at Disney Parks
At Disneyland, “The Princess and the Frog” will take over more than just Splash Mountain. French Market Restaurant permanently closed a few weeks ago to become Tiana’s Palace.
Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets is already open in New Orleans Square.
A restaurant called Tiana’s Place — which was the original name Tiana envisioned — is on the Disney Wonder cruise ship.
