REVIEW: Pineapple DOLE Whip-Stuffed Crème Puffs Arrive for Mother’s Day at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

We recently stopped by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to try the new Aloha Mom! Crème Puffs just in time for Mother’s Day.

The Aloha Mom! Crème Puff dessert has arrived just in time to celebrate Mom. Naturally, we had to stop by Capt. Cooks at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to see if it tastes as good as it looks. Upon first bite, we were blown away. This may be one of our favorite quick service desserts that we’ve had on Walt Disney World property recently.

It is very aesthetically pleasing. The puffs held together really well, considering they are filled with DOLE Whip. We had these in direct sunlight, and it still took a while for them to start melting.

They taste similar to a piña colada in crème puff form. They were light and nice to eat on a hot day. As we all know, there’s nothing worse than eating heavy food in hot, humid weather. The flower on top is made of fondant and was nothing special. The “Mom” decor is clearly made of milk chocolate, although it is listed as fondant. We thought it added a nice chocolate touch to the dish.

The dough is well made — it was very light and not overly sweet at all. It was very nicely baked.

We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of DOLE Whip pineapple filling on the inside of the puffs. We found that the amount of filling was perfect and did not drip out or create a mess at all. The coconut mousse on top was good as well, however, the pineapple DOLE Whip filling overpowers it.

The shaved coconut flakes are what brings it all together. They add a nice layer of texture and round out the piña colada notes.

We are sad that this dessert is only available through Mother’s Day, May 14, because we found it to be absolutely delicious. We would definitely get this dessert again. You get four crème puffs total, which we thought was a good value. Hopefully, a version of this sticks around.

You can find this delicious dessert at Kona Café and at Capt. Cooks at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
