Walt Disney World Cast Members will debut their new nametags tomorrow, May 16, and Disney shared more information about the inspiration behind the nametags.
New Walt Disney World Nametags
The new design features a gold star above a navy-colored silhouette of Cinderella Castle, and white stars across the background.
Costume designer Joshua Winchester said of his design for the nametags, “The singular, golden star above Cinderella Castle represents our cast who are the guiding light of the Walt Disney World Resort, while the field of stars represents that little sprinkling of pixie dust our cast carry while making magic for our guests.”
The blue color scheme was inspired by the color palette of “Cinderella.” The nametag has a glossy finish so it actually sparkles and shines.
Cast Members began receiving their new nametags earlier this month. Those with special themed nametags, such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, will receive the new designs but will continue to wear the themed ones in the parks.

Disney PhotoPass Service also introduced an interactive lens for Cast Members that sees Tinker Bell sprinkle some magic on their nametag.
Other Disney Nametags
At the beginning of The World’s Most Magical Celebration, Cast Members were given sparkling nametags with a golden border and the 50th Anniversary Cinderella Castle logo at the top. Though the celebration is officially over, Cast Members were instructed to continue wearing their 50th anniversary nametags until the new ones were ready to debut.
Disneyland Resort Cast Members received new Disney100 nametags recently that list their favorite Disney character instead of their hometown.
Last year, Imagineers also debuted new shiny nametags celebrating 70 years of Walt Disney Imagineering.
