Baymax Theming Added to San Fransokyo Restrooms in Disney California Adventure

More Baymax theming has been added to Pacific Wharf, which is being turned into San Fransokyo from “Big Hero 6,” at Disney California Adventure.

Construction walls have come down from around the Pacific Wharf restrooms, revealing adorable Baymax people painted to the sides of the doors.

The all-white figures are shaped like the traditional restroom women and men symbols, but have Baymax eyes.

Construction walls remain around the corner and throughout Pacific Wharf. Last year at D23 Expo 2022, it was announced the mini-land of restaurants at Disney California Adventure would be reimagined into San Fransokyo. Construction for the project officially began in January and the land will officially be known as San Fransokyo Square.

The Pacific Wharf bridge was painted red to resemble the San Fransokyo bridge, but re-theming has not been completed.

Most of the scaffolding was removed from this area last month, but work continues on the various signs and murals on the façades.

San Fransokyo Concept Art

Early concept art shows some of this San Fransokyo signage and the whole building draped in paper lanterns. The San Fransokyo Gate Bridge has already reopened to guests following a several-week transformation.

Right now, the area is largely known as a food court for Disney California Adventure. Among Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, other options in the land include Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, Pacific Wharf Cafe, Rita’s Baja Blenders, and Pacific Wharf Distribution Co.

When the construction is complete, the new version of the land will include a Baymax meet-and-greet, food, and more. San Fransokyo Square is expected to open this summer.
