Most of Minion Land, including Minion Café, soft opened today at Universal Studios Florida. A soft opening means not all experiences may be available all the time as things are still being changed and tested.

Minion Land

The land takes over Production Central and includes several new food and beverage locations, as well as Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. Villain-Con Minion Blast will open at a later date.

Illumination Theater

Illumination character meet-and-greets will take place outside Illumination Theater.

We met Johnny and Gunter from “Sing.” Minions also came out later.

Between the theater and Bake My Day is a façade for One Size Fits All, a Minion tailor shop.

It advertises genuine Minion quality overalls.

Bake My Day

Bake My Day is the bright pink building on the corner of the block.

It serves sweet treats, like cupcakes, macarons, and s’mores, plus includes a selection of Minion-inspired merchandise, including apparel, plush, drinkware, accessories, and keychains.

The unicorn-inspired Loungefly backpack and plush sit in the window.

Freeze Ray Pops

Next door is Freeze Ray Pops, which will have a variety of colorful popsicles inspired by Gru, the Minions, and Vector.

There’s a mobile pickup window right next to Freeze Ray Pops.

This is followed by the Bank of Evil façade.

Minion Café

On the far end of the block is Minion Café. There’s a brick façade with a Minion “Bello” mural.

The main entrance marquee of Minion Café is splattered with yellow paint.

The full Minion Café menu was released earlier this week and includes various bowls, sandwiches, Minion Tots, Fluffy Unicorn Cupcake, and more themed items.

Stay tuned for our review of Minion Café and the other food and beverage locations.

There is indoor and outdoor seating.

As with other Universal Orlando Resort restaurants, guests will be able to mobile order and wait for their food at a table.

Pop-A-Nana

Finally, there is the new popcorn stand featuring banana-flavored popcorn — Pop-A-Nana.

Though we took a look at this menu, managers were on site changing it already. Expect a different menu later today.

Villain-Con Minion Blast

Belle Bottom, Jean Clawed, and the other members of the Vicious 6 will join guests aboard Illumination’s Minions at Villain-Con. Visitors will “blast their way to supervillain stardom.”

Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast is a moving walkway stand-through shooting attraction. The attraction was developed in partnership between Universal’s award-winning creative team and the filmmakers from Illumination. This interactive blaster game experience invites guests to compete against each other in hopes to join the franchise’s most dastardly supervillains.

The experience will utilize screen technology, gaming interactivity, and physical sets to create a unique, game-based adventure. Guests will put their villainous skills to the test in these immersive environments, where they’ll spot nefarious evil-doers and mischievous Minions from Illumination’s films. The attraction promises to allow guests to interact with these characters in a whole new way.
