A new Mickey & Friends remote control Monorail playset similar to one we found at Walt Disney World earlier this year is now available at the Disneyland Resort. We spotted it in World of Disney at the Downtown Disney District.
Remote Control Monorail Playset – $99.99
The Monorail is white on top and light blue on the bottom, with a thin yellow stripe down the center.
“Disneyland Resort” is in white lettering on the end car with Pluto, Chip, and Dale placed on the design.
Fireworks are going off behind the three animal friends.
Mickey is on the other end car with Sleeping Beauty Castle featured, along with more fireworks.
Also featured on the Monorail cars is Goofy with a camera…
…Donald and Daisy sharing cotton candy…
…and Minnie in front of Pixar Pal-A-Round at Disney California Adventure.
The remote control is also shaped like a Monorail car, with black, red, and yellow buttons.
The playset includes over 14 feet of track.
You can build a Monorail station with a platform, staircase, railings, benches, a plant, and a clock.
Meanwhile, the real-life Disneyland Monorail will be closed for refurbishment beginning July 5.
The Disneyland Monorail was the first daily-operating monorail system in the Western Hemisphere when it opened in 1959. With original vehicle designs from Bob Gurr, it was part of the first major expansion of the Disneyland Resort that included the Matterhorn Bobsleds and Submarine Voyage.
Will you be adding this playset to your collection soon? Let us know in the comments. .
