This week, Tokyo Disney Resort kicked off its second phase of 40th Anniversary merchandise and food lines with its new “Memory-Go-Round” line of items. And of course with every new line comes special souvenir food items, which we stopped in to grab from restaurants all over Tokyo Disneyland.

TDL MemoryGoRoundMug1

The dessert comes in a plain yellow ceramic cup with each of Mickey’s anniversary costumes from both 5 and 0 year anniversaries at Tokyo Disneyland.

“Memory-Go-Round 40th Anniversary” is written along the bottom.

TDL MickeyMacaron2

The case is also shaped like the macaron itself, complete with a special 40th Anniversary design printed on the front.

TDL MickeyMacaron3
TDL MickeyMacaron4

The case has an incredible texture which replicates the feeling of an actual macaron despite being made of rubber.

TDL MickeyMacaron5

The macaron is able to be placed inside, although certainly other items could fit inside.

This special lemon tart (a pleasant change from the recent mousse domes or sponge cakes) features some lemon rind atop and a 40th Anniversary white chocolate medallion.

TDL40LemonTart3

The plate, unlike the cup, only shows off the 0 year anniversary costumes (i.e. Grand Open, 10, 20, 30, and 40). But it has the same “Memory-Go-Round 40th Anniversary” logo. The following locations carry this special treat:

Souvenir Lunch Box – +¥1200 ($8.50)

TDL40MemoryGoRoundLunchBox1

At select restaurants around both parks, you’ll find this special lunch box. The box brings to mind the foldable lunch boxes which were sold around the parks in the 1990s and 2000s for all kinds of occasions. They fell out of favor around the 25th Anniversary in 2008-09.

The case features the full Memory-Go-Round logo with every Tokyo Disneyland anniversary costume from 0 to 40.

TDL40MemoryGoRoundLunchBox3

Once unfolded, the logos of each respective anniversary sit next to each version of Mickey. On this side we see the generic Mickey outfit for the Grand Opening, his star-spangled look inspired by the American flag for the 5th in 1988 (originally used in the “Spirit of America” show at Walt Disney World), his Sorcerer Mickey costume for the 10th “It’s Magical!” celebration in 1993, Jester Mickey for the 15th Anniversary “Viva Magic!” in 1998, and his sparkly blue and white costume for the 20th Anniversary in 2003.

TDL40MemoryGoRoundLunchBox4

The sides have embossed Mickey Mouse silhouettes.

TDL40MemoryGoRoundLunchBox5

On the other side, we see the rest — The silver jacket and blue pants for the 25th Anniversary “The Dream Goes On” in 2008, the gold suit and top hat for the 30th “The Happiness Year” Anniversary in 2013, his blue and gold outfit for the 35th “Happiest Celebration” Anniversary in 2018, and finally the orange and rainbow costume for the ongoing 40th “Dream-Go-Round” celebration.

On the back we see attractions past as well as previous logos for the park and the resort. Sights like StormRider, the Jolly Trolley, StarJets, Visionarium, the Mickey Mouse Revue, Grand Circuit Raceway, and the Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour. As well we see retro merchandise like the classic shopping bag from the 1980s, pennants, and even the pre-open bumper sticker.

Popcorn Case – ¥2100 ($14.87)

TDL40MemoryGoRoundPopcornCase1

The popcorn case, true to most of these, is canvas covered in plastic. The base design is red while the Velcro-attached lid is yellow.

TDL40MemoryGoRoundPopcornCase2

Each of the nine anniversary costumes encircle the 40th Anniversary “Memory-Go-Round” logo.

TDL40MemoryGoRoundPopcornCase3

The sides show some of the same sights as the lunch case, but also include others like the old passport holders, a promo film reel for Magic Journeys, and Meet the World.

TDL40MemoryGoRoundPopcornCase4
TDL40MemoryGoRoundPopcornCase5

We can also see Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade, Mickey’s Space Fantasy — a show in 1989 commemorating the opening of Star Tours, and Big 10 A-E ticket books.

TDL40MemoryGoRoundPopcornCase6

On top of the case, we see the 40th Anniversary Memory-Go-Round logo.

TDLMemoryGoRoundWetWipeCase 2

The canvas does still have the logos we’ve seen on other items, however.
