REVIEW: Three New Cocktails From Indiana Jones: Den of Destiny at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The Indiana Jones: Den of Destiny opened today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it features a host of new drinks. The lounge opens at 10:00 AM each day, so those wishing to start their day with a cocktail and no judgment are welcome at this limited-time outpost. The Den of Destiny was created to promote the upcoming film “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” which opens later this month in American theaters. The full tour can be found here.

The lounge is located in the former Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost store. Currently the bar does not require reservations, and accepts walk-up guests.

The menu features three signature cocktails representing exotic adventures and two beers. There is a limit of two alcoholic beverages per adult. Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat Ale from California is $10.25 and the ubiquitous Cigar City Jai Alai from Tampa, Florida is also $10.25.

We tried the three cocktails: The Adventuress Margarita, The Weathered Fedora, and L’Atlantique Green Tea.

L’Atlantique Green Tea – $6.25

Pomegranate Green Tea, Blood Orange, Lemon Juice and Agave Nectar

LAtlantique Green Tea 4987

This non-alcoholic drink is a very refreshing tea perfect for summer. Probably sweeter than most would expect, it’s got more fruit juice than green tea. The citrus is featured prominently, with enough agave nectar to eliminate any chance of sourness. The more we drink, the more we think it tastes like Hi-C fruit punch.

The Adventuress Margarita – $13.50

Corazón Blanco Tequila, Passion Fruit Papaya Green Tea, Cucumber, Lime Juice, and Agave Nectar

Advenuress Margarita LS1

This is another refreshing drink but it’s a bit too syrupy for our taste. Both this and the L’antique Green Tea are premixed in a dispenser, so they are clearly shooting for a quick turnaround at the expense of quality, handcrafted beverages. The flavor of the green tea base is almost lost because the cucumber flavor dominates. If you like cucumber-flavored drinks, you’ll love this. If you’re accustomed to light, lime-forward, tart, and boozy margaritas, this will disappoint. It’s too sweet and syrupy to really be considered a margarita, so we would recommend you pass on this one.

The Weathered Fedora – $14.50

Old Forester Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Sweet Vermouth, Vanilla, Hella Cocktail Co. Ginger Bitters, Star Anise, Cinnamon and Nutmeg served over an Ice Sphere

Introducing The Weathered Fedora, an intriguing libation that combines the classic allure of Old Forester Kentucky Straight Bourbon with a touch of creativity. This concoction offers a familiar bourbon foundation complemented by the delightful interplay of Sweet Vermouth, Vanilla, Hella Cocktail Co. Ginger Bitters, Star Anise, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg. Served over an Ice Sphere, it presents a visual feast and a captivating taste experience. For those unaccustomed to bourbon, the unique flavors of vanilla and spices provide an unexpected twist that is sure to please. However, bourbon aficionados seeking complexity may find themselves yearning for a more intricate blend.
