Walt Disney Imagineering shared a first look at the Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs queue in the new World of Frozen land opening this November at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Alfred Lee, creative designer with the Hong Kong Imagineering team, showed off the coaster’s queue in an Instagram video. The space resembles the Wandering Oaken shop first seen in “Frozen,” with wood walls and touches of green and red paint.
There are sketches of the coaster on a desk, and a totem pole of “Frozen” trolls.
Oaken himself appears in a sauna, similar to in the queue for Frozen Ever After at EPCOT. There’s also a statue of Olaf riding Sven in the queue, which we previously saw in a photo shared by Disney Parks.
Olaf is dangling his carrot nose in front of Sven to get the reindeer to run faster.
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs
New concept art for World of Frozen was released a week ago, including renderings of the Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs queue.
The first “Frozen”-themed coaster anywhere in the world, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs was built by none other than Wandering Oaken himself, according to the attraction’s lore. He’s enlisted the help of his buddies Olaf and Sven to power the attraction as they work together to pull the sleds to the top of the lift hill.
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs ride testing has begun.
World of Frozen
World of Frozen will also include its own version of Frozen Ever After, featuring audio-animatronics with non-screen faces. Just like the Florida version of the attraction, guests will embark on a journey to the North Mountain where Elsa’s Ice Palace awaits as part of the Summer Snow Day celebration.
Guests will be able to dine at the Golden Crocus Inn, named after the national symbol of Arendelle. This will be the primary dining area for the land, promising a diverse array of cuisine.
Tucked away in the village of Arendelle, Tick Toy Toys & Collectibles is a toy shop operated by a wood carver and his wife. This will be a central merchandise location for toys and keepsakes that include elaborate character carvings.
Finally, the doors of Anna and Elsa’s childhood Playhouse have been opened to celebrate Summer Snow Day. The Playhouse in the Woods will be an interactive play experience for children.
The land will open in November 2023.
