Walt Disney World has new personalized Haunted Mansion leather bracelets and keychains available at the station in Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, a.k.a. the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop at Magic Kingdom.
Engraving is included in the prices of keychains, bag tags, and bracelets.
Haunted Mansion Keychain – $14.99
The keychain is a black leather circle with “The Haunted Mansion” in teal green lettering at the center. Portraits of different Haunted Mansion ghosts are in purple and teal frames around the ride name. There are also frames showing off the wallpaper eyes, a gravestone, and a castle. Small stars, moons, bats, and a skull are scattered across the design.
Haunted Mansion Bag Tag – $14.99
The coffin-shaped bag tag features the Hatbox Ghost, with his head in his hatbox, in bright teal, purple, and pink. “The Haunted Mansion” is above him, and a coffin is being opened from inside below him.
Haunted Mansion Leather Bracelet – $16.99
There are three new bracelet designs, all black. This one has “The Haunted Mansion” in a splash of teal green on one side.
On the other side are images of the Hatbox Ghost, Pride, and Hitchhiking Ghosts with a swinging chandelier.
The bracelets all have silver snap closures.
Haunted Mansion Leather Bracelet – $16.99
This bracelet just has “The Haunted Mansion” against the teal splash, with the addition of the singing busts from the graveyard scene.
Haunted Mansion Bracelet – $16.99
And the last bracelet features the Bride, Hatbox Ghost, and other iconography set against a pattern of blue skulls.
The pattern only goes across the side of the bracelet with the snap. The other side is solid black to leave space for engraving.
The Haunted Mansion
The original version of The Haunted Mansion opened in 1969 at Disneyland as part of the New Orleans Square expansion. Two years later, it was an opening day attraction in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom. In 1983, it was an opening day attraction at Tokyo Disneyland.
Phantom Manor, a version of Haunted Mansion that has its own backstory, was an opening day attraction at Disneyland Paris (then Euro Disneyland).
At Hong Kong Disneyland, Mystic Manor is a completely different attraction that draws some inspiration from the original. It avoids references to the afterlife out of respect toward traditional Chinese cultural precedent.
New ‘Haunted Mansion’ Movie
The upcoming “Haunted Mansion” movie follows Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and her 9-year-old son Travis (Chase Dillon), who move into a haunted house in New Orleans. Dawson’s character ends up getting help from a priest (Owen Wilson), a scientist-turned-failed-paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Tiffany Haddish), and a historian (Danny DeVito).
The film’s ghosts include Madame Leota (Jamie Lee Curtis), the Hatbox Ghost (Jared Leto), and the Bride, a.k.a. Constance Hatchaway. Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, and Hasan Minhaj make cameos, as seen in the newest trailer.
“Haunted Mansion” is directed by Justin Simien from a screenplay by Katie Dippold. It’s produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich. It will be in theaters on July 28.
Zillow shared a behind-the-scenes look at the various movie sets in a fictional “listing” for the haunted abode.
“Haunted Mansion” is the second attempt to adapt the ride into a film, following the poorly received 2003 “The Haunted Mansion” directed by Rob Minkoff and starring Eddie Murphy.
Guillermo del Toro had also developed a script for a new Haunted Mansion film, but it never came to fruition.
