The Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería in San Fransokyo Square opened today at Disney California Adventure and we tried its two new drinks, along with some garlic pinwheel chips.
The former dessert window has become the new Karl Strauss location for the area. Other Karl Strauss ales and IPAs are also available.
Food
Garlic Pinwheel Chips Mix – $6.49
“Pinwheel chips” are a classic Mexican snack also known as chicharrones de harina. They are circular with crosses that make them resemble wagon wheels. These chips are savory and crunchy, with just the right amount of seasoning and perhaps a slight hint of lime. They are a nice snack for walking and capable of feeding multiple people.
Beverages
Moment of Zen: Japanese Rice Lager – $13 (4.1% ABV)
Citrus & Floral Aromas
This is mostly a light and smooth lager with a slight rice taste. It’s reminiscent of sake as a late and subtle aftertaste. Overall, this is a decent beer that will please thirsty guests on a hot day.
Endless Summer Hard Seltzer – $13 (5% ABV)
Mandarin Orange & Dragon Fruit
This has delightful citrus notes. It’s smooth and crisp for easy drinking, with dragon fruit not really showing up until the end. It wasn’t ice cold but still refreshing.
Watch our video review below of ALL the new San Fransokyo Square venues that have opened so far.
