*NEW* Char Siu Chicken Wings – $10.99

Whole chicken wings glazed in char siu and topped with chili threads and garlic

For counter service wings, the meat is incredibly tender and juicy. The char siu is faintly sweet, and there’s garlic on the back end, but the chili threads are hardly noticeable. They aren’t bad, but they are poorly seasoned. There’s tremendous potential and hopefully they work out a better balance. It is nice to have something different.

*NEW* Headless Horseman Cupcake – $5.99

Yellow cupcake topped with cream cheese buttercream, spicy cheese-flavored snacks, and a chocolate piece

The “cheese flavored snack” is a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto. It may be yellow cake but it is colored bright red. The cream cheese buttercream is thick and rich, to the point of overkill. Surprisingly, the cupcake was spicy — a Cast Member let us know that while not listed in the description, the cake has Tajín added. It balances the ultra-sweet frosting very well. Another inventive success.

*NEW* Cinnamon Funnel Cake – $8.29

Funnel cake topped with pumpkin ice cream, drizzled with pumpkin spiced caramel, and topped with butterscotch chips

Straight out of an EPCOT Festival playbook, this is an elevated funnel cake. It’s very good. It was fresh with a crispy exterior and soft interior. While our party was divided on whether the butterscotch worked with the pumpkin ice cream, we agreed this is a must-try.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs from August 11 through November 1 on select nights. A separate ticket is required to attend.
