A Trader Sam’s dress is now available at BouTiki in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This dress was recently released at Disneyland Resort.

Trader Sam’s Dress – $69.99

The dress is dark blue with a pattern of tropical plants and tiki mugs, including the piranha mug, from Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto.

The neck is lined with a light blue fringe. The same fringe is at the waist and halfway down the skirt.

Two ropes with tassels hang from the neck, to create a keyhole opening.

Trader Sam was a character on the Jungle Cruise attraction in Walt Disney World and Disneyland until he was removed with the ride’s 2021 sensitivity update. At Magic Kingdom, Sam was a light-skinned man who wore a red and white striped skirt, lei, and top hat, and carried an umbrella. At Disneyland, he was dark-skinned and more of a racist caricature, though his appearance did change over the years. Both versions were shrunken head salesmen.

The original Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is located at the Disneyland Hotel and offers lunch, dinner, and alcoholic beverages. It opened in May 2011 and includes animatronics, lighting, and sound effects associated with specific themed drinks. Special tiki mugs are available.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto opened at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in 2015.
