Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure is temporarily closed for refurbishment, and we spotted crews hard at work on the ride while on a visit to the park.

The ride closed on August 18 for this refurbishment, and the closure is scheduled through August 27, according to the Disneyland Resort hours and events calendar.

Yesterday, crews were out and about on the track preparing for fresh pavement to be laid.

Various tubing could be seen from a distance, laying out on the track.

In this photo, it looks as though a construction worker was spraying down the road down with a hose.

Construction walls have also gone up around the track. You can see Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters tire tower standing tall in the distance.

We saw other workers out on the track, presumably removing any dirt or debris prior to the new pavement work.

These stop signs informing guests of the ride’s refurbishment are everywhere in Cars Land, and encourage guests to enjoy other attractions that the land has to offer.

The entrance of the ride is also blocked off by construction walls.

Today, crews were out painting rockwork throughout the outdoor portion of the attraction while the pavement was setting.

With the constant sun exposure, it’s to be expected that these landscaping elements would need a touch up every once in a while.

The yellow that was previously present on the track is now gone, with the new pavement freshly laid.

You can still see some of the tubing or hose present at the crest of the hill.

With just a few more days left for this refurbishment, it’s only a matter of time before riders get back out on the open road again.

This isn’t the first closure for the ride this year; Radiator Springs Racers closed for a scheduled refurbishment back in January to fix some effects and animatronics, refresh character projectors, and repave other parts of the exterior race track.
