Construction walls are gone from around The Villas at Disneyland Hotel — a new Disney Vacation Club tower — as well as from the Monorail waterslides, which were closed for refurbishment last month.
Disneyland Hotel Construction
The Villas a Disneyland Hotel are a new tower painted yellow and other warm tones.
The tower is just behind the Monorail pool featuring the two famous waterslides.
Scaffolding was previously around the waterslides for refurbishment. They’re looking a bit cleaner and brighter now. Scrim has also been removed from the fence around the pool.
The Monorail slides and the sign atop them act as an icon of Disneyland Resort.
We couldn’t get closer to the entrance of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, but we could see some of the bottom floor behind permanent white fencing.
Open houses of the new tower will be offered from September 29–October 1, coinciding with the previously announced September 28 opening date.
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel is also known as Discovery Tower. The concept was unveiled in 2020 and construction went vertical in early 2022.
The 12-story tower will have 340 accommodations, including duo studios, deluxe studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and three-bedroom grand villas. Each room is themed to a different Walt Disney Animation Studios film from which Imagineers drew inspiration from sketches, concept art, story cels, and color maps. Room types include the Duo Studio, Deluxe Studio, 1-Bedroom Villa, 2-Bedroom Villa, 3-Bedroom Grand Villa, and Garden Room.
Renderings of the villas were shown in a video released in March. Guests have been able to view renderings of the upcoming tower at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel Preview Center in the hotel’s business center since May.
