Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration is coming up in 2025, and new reports suggest that the fan-favorite Paint the Night Parade will hold off on returning until then.
Paint the Night Returning in 2025
Earlier this year, rumors suggested that the parade would return to Disneyland Resort in 2024. Now, sources indicate that plans have shifted and that Disneyland Resort will hold the fan-favorite parade for its 70th anniversary celebration in 2025. At that time, it would likely run at Disneyland Park and not at Disney California Adventure.

The parade has performed at both of the parks at Disneyland Resort. It made its debut in 2015 for the 60th anniversary of Disneyland. Most recently, the resort celebrated its 68th anniversary with a cavalcade in Disneyland Park.
It has a rather spotty performance history, ending its initial run in September 2016 only to return for the holiday season. It was replaced by the original Main Street Electrical Parade’s return (one of many) in January 2017.
In 2018, Paint the Night returned — but this time, it performed at Disney California Adventure, where a new “The Incredibles” float replaced “Frozen” as part of the celebration surrounding the opening of Pixar Pier. It ran until mid-November of the same year and has not been performed since.
The first version of Paint the Night debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2014. Performances there have been suspended since 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the rumors are that it is unlikely to ever return to that park.
