Shanghai Disney Resort has announced an opening date for the new Zootopia Land. The latest addition to the resort will open on December 20, 2023.
The announcement was confirmed on the resort’s Weibo page.
“Judy, Nick, and their Zootopia friends are ready to welcome everyone to this vibrant, lifelike metropolis of mammals,” reads the post.
Zootopia Land at Shanghai Disney Resort
The land is based on the 2016 feature from the Walt Disney Animation Studios and will feature the Zootopia: Hot Pursuit attraction.
In Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, guests will become a rookie police officer at the Zootopia Police Department (ZPD). The ride is set after the events of “Zootopia,” as residents of the animal city are gearing up for a Zootopia Day concert featuring Gazelle.
There will be various meet and greets and interactions with characters from “Zootopia.” Characters that will appear include Fru Fru, her father Mr. Big, Koslove the polar bear, Flash the sloth, Yax the yak, Duke Weaselton the weasel, and the Hopps family, who will talk amongst themselves and with guests from the windows of Zootopia buildings. In 2021, we got a preview of a Yax animatronic.
Guests can get a photo with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde at the Zootopia Recruitment Station.
