Walt Disney World Resort has announced a number of new food options debuting at Disney’s Animal Kingdom tomorrow, October 11. The resort announced the new options on the Disney Parks Blog on Tuesday afternoon.
New Food Items at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Some dining locations will receive their own unique items while other new offerings will be available at several eateries. The Harambe Market quick-service restaurant will debut three new rice bowls on October 11 — the Chicken and Shrimp Rice Bowl, the Chicken Rice Bowl, and the Shrimp Rice Bowl. The dishes themselves are the same, consisting of jollof rice, kachumbari tomato salad, and tzatziki sauce. The sole difference comes in the protein you choose — you can select chermoula-marinated chicken, peri peri-marinated shrimp, or both. A children’s version of the rice bowl will also be offered; it will contain shrimp, white rice, and a Cuties Mandarin Orange.
The Beef and Lamb Kofta Pita will also debut at Harambe Market on October 11. The dish features a blend of house-made beef and lamb kofta topped with tzatziki sauce and chermoula and served alongside house-made chips. A plant-based alternative containing IMPOSSIBLE kofta will also be offered; it will be served with a plant-based aïoli, chermoula, and house-made chips.
The Harambe Salad with Chicken will also be joining the restaurant’s menu; it contains chermoula-marinated chicken, quinoa, grilled corn, black-eyed peas, and crispy chickpeas topped with a chermoula-herbed vinaigrette. The chicken can be substituted with shrimp.
You will also be able to conclude your meal with a new Mango Passion Fruit Cheesecake that the Disney Parks Blog describes as “refreshing, delicious, and beautiful.”
The new Stuffed Pancake Sandwich will be served at Drinkwallah, Pongu Pongu, Trek Snacks, and at select outdoor vendors. The sandwich contains a sausage patty, guava paste, egg, and cheese engulfed by a pancake. You can also order it sans guava paste.
New breakfast and lunch items will be debuting at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery. The Egg and Bacon Croissant Sandwich with Tomato Pepper Relish breakfast option includes a cheese omelet served alongside a croissant, bacon, tomato-pepper relish, and potato barrels. Those potato barrels serve as the basis of the Breakfast Totchos with Eggs, Bacon, and Cheese dish, another breakfast item that features the potatoes topped with scrambled eggs, nacho cheese sauce, cheese curds, and crumbled bacon.
A plant-based option joins the lunch menu, as the IMPOSSIBLE Gatsby includes plant-based picadillo, tomato-pepper relish, and crispy potato sticks served atop a pita. It’s topped with a drizzle of plant-based aïoli. The Harissa Chicken Wrap rounds out the new items at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery; it contains harissa chicken salad, vegetables, and an avocado spread wrapped in a spinach tortilla. Both lunch options are served with house-made chips.
Pongu Pongu in Pandora — The World of Avatar joins in on the fun with a new Cinnamon Roll, which will be topped with a sweet icing, blue sprinkles, and white pearls.
Flame Tree Barbecue will add a second plant-based option to its menu in the form of the IMPOSSIBLE Burnt Ends served with french fries and coleslaw. The quick-service location will also begin serving a French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese dish.
A plant-based Italian Sausage served with an Italian dressing-topped side salad will debut at Pizzafari alongside the rest of the new food items at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Disney Parks Blog also announced that an Antipasto Side Salad will soon be joining the Pizzafari menu as a general side available with any dish.
You’ll be able to further satisfy your sweet tooth at Tamu Tamu Refreshments, as the corner location will soon be serving two new DOLE Whip floats. The DOLE Whip Orange Soda Float will feature traditional pineapple DOLE Whip served in a cup of orange soda and topped with a strawberry syrup drizzle. The Dole Whip Hard Cider Float containing DOLE Whip and ACE Pineapple Craft Cider will also debut on October 11.
