Collectible keys were available on shopDisney in 2020 and 2021 before falling out of fashion, but old keys are sometimes brought into Disneyland Resort as game prizes. For example, the “Toy Story 4” Forky and Karen key set and the “Up” key are also available as prizes.

All the keys have a D-shaped handle and most have the castle-shaped teeth. This key’s handle is a royal blue with silver stars and a crescent moon — inspired by the sorcerer hat.

On the stem is an image of Mickey wearing the hat with the brooms holding water buckets marching behind him. “Fantasia” is printed on the stem above the castle-shaped teeth.

“Fantasia” was released on November 13, 1940. The film consists of several animated sequences set to different classical music compositions, with live-action clips of the orchestra and MC Deems Taylor between. The most famous sequence is “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” using the composition of the same name by Paul Dukas and based on the 1797 poem “Der Zauberlehrling” by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Mickey plays the apprentice to sorcerer Yen Sid (Disney backward), stealing the hat to perform magic but losing control of the situation. A sequel, “Fantasia 2000,” was released in IMAX on January 1, 2000. It mostly consists of new sequences, but also features “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”
