We spotted this new Disneyland Cable Knit Spirit Jersey Sweater at Elias & Co. on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure Park.
The bottom of this sweater is an intricate cable knit, and the seed stitch used at the top stands in contrast. Together, the two techniques create the signature horizontal seam on this sweater. Other Spirit Jerseys traditionally have a hard seam at this point; the actual knit texture of this Spirit Jersey creates the “seam” with this pattern shift.
At the top breast of the Disneyland cable knit Spirit Jersey sweater, the Disneyland logo is embroidered with “Est. 1955” embroidered below in white The stitching used for the logo is a similar red to the shirt itself, but the Disneyland D logo is outlined in white to stand out against the shirt’s base color. The texture of the seed stitch is soft and consistent.
The hem of the shirt has a sewn-on Disney patch, as well as the typical Spirit Jersey external tag seen on this brand’s classic Spirit Jerseys. This close up photo also shows the variety of stitches used in the machine-knit cables. The fabric is somewhat stretchy from this design, whereas other spirit jerseys are often less flexible in their materials.
