Though living the ‘pirate life’ on a daily basis may not be the greatest idea, you can still inject some swashbuckling flair into your wardrobe with these new Pirates of the Caribbean shirts that recently washed ashore at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. The new shirts feature stylized art and a number of classic Disney characters in their finest pirate threads; we found them at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar in the Adventureland section of the park.
Pirates of the Caribbean Long-Sleeved Shirt- $31.99
It can get cold on the high seas, so layer up with this new Pirates of the Caribbean long-sleeved shirt. The beige shirt features a thick crew-style neck opening and arm cuffs, making it more sweater-like than a standard long-sleeved t-shirt. A stylized skull appears over the left breast; it’s donning an eye patch, bandana, and pirate hat as it floats over two swords. The icon is placed atop a white shield outline.
Stylized attraction iconography is printed down both sleeves. The right sleeve features the set of keys that dangle from the prison dog’s mouth toward the end of the ride, a treasure chest, a hook hand, and a skull-and-crossbones flag.
The left sleeve features teal and maroon gems, a chalice, a guitar, and vibrant musical notes.
Mickey and his friend take to the sea on the back of the shirt, as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto all appear wearing their finest pirate attire. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy hold swords while Pluto wields a mop. Pluto, cleverly, is holding the set of keys from the attraction in his mouth.
The characters appear in front of a large black octopus with menacing orange eyes. Water splashes in the background, adding a pop of vibrant blue color. The octopus is wearing a hat that features a skull-and-crossbones design.
Pirates of the Caribbean Youth T-Shirt – $26.99
Mickey and Minnie also appear on the red youth t-shirt recently released alongside the long-sleeved adult option. They’re here sans friends and intimidating octopus, but they’re wearing the same pirate outfits. Mickey has picked up a hook hand as Minnie steers a ship wheel. The image is set against a serene sunset over a body of water.
The back of the shirt features a stylized attraction emblem printed underneath the collar. The skull-and-crossbones image is lifted from the front of the adult t-shirt, and it’s encircled by stylized text that reads “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
This stylized Pirates of the Caribbean art has been used on a litany of merchandise in recent months. In late September, plush toys of Mickey and Pluto in their pirate outfits debuted at World of Disney in Disney Springs alongside a new headband and roleplay set that also featured the art. In early October, we spotted a new ear headband with the imagery at Magic Kingdom. Socks and a purse adorned with the art debuted a few days later.
