With just a couple of days to go until its official opening, this year’s gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa appears to be complete.
Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
In our last update, the gingerbread house just had its siding and shingles installed, but was missing its powdered sugar dusting of “snow” and other various décor.
Now the house looks perfectly snow-capped.
Last year’s gingerbread house had a color scheme to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. This year, the decor is simply red and white.
Small decorative figures can be found throughout the display.
There’s even a small Christmas village on one of the ledges.
Santa Claus has also taken his place on the gingerbread house.
The ingredients display sign has also been added, and is surrounded by poinsettias and other greenery.
Each of the panels above the window shutters includes a painted scene of Disney characters enjoying a winter wonderland. This one features Mickey and Minnie dressed in Santa-inspired outfits.
This display includes Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore.
Snow White is wearing all red and a Santa hat in this art display.
Rapunzel appears to be wearing mistletoe in her hair and a red and white shawl over her shoulders, no doubt dreaming of the presents waiting under the tree on Christmas Day.
The television mounted to the back of the house is expected to play video about its construction. Once open, the sweets shop is usually open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily.
The gingerbread house display will officially open on November 8, 2023, and will remain open through January 1, 2024.
The Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort lobby will be remodeled next year. The project was delayed and then officially pushed to 2024 so as not to interfere with the gingerbread house display.
