Great Maple, the flagship restaurant for the recently-renovated Pixar Place Hotel, has opened to guests at Disneyland Resort. We were there on its first night and morning to try out a variety of items on the menu — including brunch!
Great Maple Modern American Eatery Menu
The full Great Maple menu (without prices) was released last week.
It includes “Shares” (appetizers), “Sweets” (desserts), “Mains,” sandwiches and burgers, salads, and “Brunch Favorites.”
We ate dinner on opening night and returned to Great Maple the next morning for brunch.
The drinks are on the back. There is a selection of beer and wine, cocktails, spirits, and hot drinks.
While at your table, a server will leave a glass bottle of water for water refills.
Brunch Favorites
French Toast Logs – $23
thick cut brioche, warm maple syrup, whipped butter, fresh blueberries. Substitute: maple bacon syrup at an additional cost.
The French toast logs were pretty good. They were a tad undercooked, which isn’t surprising because they are so thick.
We definitely recommend getting the bacon maple syrup, as it ties all the flavors of French toast, bacon, and blueberries together.
This dish is a solid option for French toast lovers, we just wish it was more evenly cooked.
Chilaquiles – $23
tortilla chips cooked in eggs with chorizo, salsa verde, onions, and piquillo peppers, topped with cilantro crema, queso fresco, toy box tomatoes, and avocado
The chilaquiles are delicious and a lot of food, which is nice.
The chorizo is not greasy at all. It’s more like a natural, organic chorizo. The cilantro cream is also great. The ingredients are super fresh.
The tortilla chips were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, which is what you want from chilaquiles. These are better than the Lamplight Lounge version, in our opinion.
Fried Chicken & Doughnuts – $27
buttermilk fried chicken, maple bacon doughnuts, maple syrup
The fried chicken and maple doughnuts were the stars of the brunch show. The chicken had a perfectly crisp layer on top and was full of flavor, with tender white meat chicken on the inside.
Paired with the maple doughnut, this was the perfect contrast of sweet and salty. They complement each other well.
The doughnut is thick and sweet with the maple glaze, and you can’t go wrong with the thick-cut bacon on the top. It’s an amazing dish.
Pancake ‘Pops’ – $21
a take on Pigs in a Blanket: three ‘pops’ on a stick, served with maple syrup, salted caramel, and whipped cream for dipping
The pancake pops were the surprise hit of the morning. They have soft, sweet batter on the outside and a very flavorful breakfast sausage on the inside.
Plus, you get two sauce options. We personally enjoyed the salted caramel sauce.
These are great for pancake fans, and we think kids would enjoy them as well.
