New snack options are always a good idea, and guests stopping by Kat Saka’s Kettle inside of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park have a new option to try with the Kublag Spiced Savory Popped Grains. We popped in to give our review of the new offering.

Not sure what a Kublag is? According to Wookieepedia, the Kublag is a six-legged creature that roamed the forest moon of Endor. How the Kublag flavoring made its way onto the popped grains, aka popcorn, of Batuu? We’ll let you decide. Now, onto the review…

The good: The flavoring added to the new Kublag spiced popcorn is unique. As described in the official Kat Saka’s Kettle menu, we picked up the Cajun spices with a citrus kick. The flavor isn’t subtle by any means, but it also isn’t spicy at all. The popcorn itself was also great.

The not-so-good: It felt near impossible to snack on this popcorn without inhaling the seasoning powder with every bite. It was so overwhelming that we found ourselves coughing non-stop while eating it. Ultimately, the flavoring is a bit too much.

Overall, we’d give the popcorn a 5 out of 10. It’s certainly not the worst things we’ve eaten in the parks, but, while it’s always nice to try a new flavor profile, the over-the-top seasoning powder makes it difficult to fully enjoy. It’s worth noting that this new snack is not part of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Life Day offerings.
