‘Star Wars’ Actor Adam Driver Confirms He’s Done Playing Kylo Ren

‘Star Wars’ Actor Adam Driver Confirms He’s Done Playing Kylo Ren

During an interview with the “Smartless” podcast, Adam Driver, known for playing Kylo Ren in the “Star Wars” sequel trilogy confirmed that he will no longer play the role.

While being interviewed by “Smartness” hosts, Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, Driver was asked about the future of the “Star Wars” franchise. He replied, “They’re doing stuff, but not with me. I’m not doing it anymore.” Pressed on if he was done because the characters was done, he simply replied, “Yeah.”

He was also asked about his history with “Star Wars,” and if he’d grown up a fan of the franchise, to which he shared, “I was a fan. My dad was more of a ‘Star Trek’ fan than a ‘Star Wars’ fan, but I did have a couple ‘Star Wars’ toys that we got at a garage sale, but I was a fan of the movies.”

Driver later discussed getting offered the role of Kylo Ren, a.k.a Ben Solo, revealed that he hesitated agreed to the part because he “didn’t want to be bad in it.” At the time, there was no script, however he signed onto the project after “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” director, JJ Abrams, walked him through the whole project.

Driver played the role of Kylo Ren from 2015-2019, starring in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” His voice can be heard as the character on the attraction Star Wars: Rise of Resistance in both Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
