PHOTOS: Crews Begin Painting New DVC Tower Brown at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

A new Disney Vacation Club tower is under construction at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, with a projected opening in late 2024. After the first coat of white primer was added to a wing of the tower last week, crews are now beginning to paint the tower brown.

Painting on Polynesian DVC Tower

The wall that has been painting faces the lagoon and is visible from boats passing through the water.

Crew members have begun painting the wall brown around some of the sliding glass doors.

Concept art indicates the whole building will be dark brown.

So far, crews have painted the walls of ten balconies.

The center of the tower and the other wing have not yet been painted at all.

There are sliding glass doors and most of the guest rooms, now.

The doors that crew members are painting around have been covered in clear plastic tarps.

Temporary wood paneling covers some openings into the building.

When we visited this week, two painters in a boom lift were working on the third floor.

Crews have mostly painted the walls facing the lagoon, but they have also painted some of the side walls of the balconies.

Meanwhile, a new steel framework is in place along the center of the building.

The steel frame outlines what looks like a hallway and a circular gazebo-like structure.

The steel frame is around openings in the building.

Concept art seems to indicate this will be an open-air seating area for a restaurant.

Compare to the concept art below.

Paving has begun on the pool or pool deck to the left side of the tower.

We also took a look at the construction site from the Walt Disney World Monorail.

There are more spots missing sliding glass doors or windows on this side.

Blue tarps cover the doorways with no doors yet.

As the Monorail passes the tower, we can just barely see the primer on the side of the building.
