Following the Maleficent dragon fire during “Fantasmic!” at Disneyland in April, many fire effects were suspended at Disney Parks worldwide. Fire effects were gone from “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure for several months, but returned in September. They didn’t last long, however, and were gone again by the time “World of Color – Season of Light” returned for the holiday season. As of this week, fire effects are back to the show once again.
Fire Effects During ‘World of Color – Season of Light’
“World of Color – Season of Light” is approximately 23 minutes long. In addition to fire effects, it uses fountains, projections on a mist screen, and music.
The show is scheduled for twice nightly performances every evening through January 7, 2024. The performances are at 9:00 p.m. and then at either 10:15 p.m. or 10:30 p.m.
During the show, fire is shot into the air from in front of the water fountains.

After the holiday season, “World of Color” will be closed for refurbishment through February 2024, after which “World of Color – One” is expected to return.
Guests can also celebrate the holidays at Disney California Adventure with Disney Festival of Holidays, happening daily through January 7, 2024. The Mickey’s Happy Holidays cavalcade marches through the park, the Three Caballeros host the ¡Viva Navidad! street party, special dishes are available at the festive foods marketplace (check Disneyland News Today for our reviews), and Santa Claus has arrived at Redwood Creek Trail.
Over at Disneyland Park is A Christmas Fantasy Parade, the “Believe… in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular, “it’s a small world” Holiday, and Haunted Mansion Holiday.
