An Instagram video going viral this week shows one Disneyland guest yelling at another for speaking Spanish in America.

Racist Disneyland Guest Video Goes Viral

Disneyland Guest Goes Viral

The video was filmed by Eva Ramirez in the restroom at the Mickey & Friends parking structure. Ramirez, who was visiting Disneyland Resort with her young son for his birthday, confronted two other guests. She began the video by saying the person in front of her heard her speaking Spanish and complained that she was Mexican (of course, Spanish is a language used by several countries and cultures, but Ramirez does happen to be Mexican). Ramirez asked the woman to repeat what she said and asked if she had a problem with people speaking Spanish.

The woman said, “Yeah because it’s America. It’s America. You don’t speak Spanish in America, an English-speaking country!” For the record, unlike some other countries, the United States of America does not have an official language.

The woman also tried to call out Ramirez for “leaving” her child ten feet away and said “It’s offensive” that Ramirez used the bathroom’s accessible stall when her companion uses a wheelchair. During the conversation, this woman was guarding the second woman’s wheelchair. The second woman eventually exited a different restroom stall, telling the first, “It’s not worth it.”

Ramirez noted in her caption that the “bigger restroom stalls at that location are also for mothers with children and clearly have no handicap signs.” She also said the second woman agreed with the first, but “stayed quiet” after she started recording.

Ramirez told the first woman that her comments were racist, to which the woman responded, “I don’t care! I hate Mexicans, it’s true. There it is.”

Several commenters claimed to know the woman in the video and said that this is not the first time she has said such things to fellow Disney guests.

Ramirez wrote in her Instagram caption, “I can’t believe it’s 2023 and we are knee deep in hatred and bigotry yet this person wasn’t even subtle nor hiding it.” She added that she shared the video because “Racism starts at home. People have access to several resources, but still make the conscious choice to continue to be ignorant. Never thought I’d experience this and I thought I’d ignore someone like this, but in the presence of my son no one will scream at him nor me what language to speak in‼️”

The video contains swearing and more strong language. Watch the video on Instagram below or by clicking here.

Here is Ramirez’s full caption about the encounter:

I can’t believe it’s 2023 and we are knee deep in hatred and bigotry yet this person wasn’t even subtle nor hiding it. We were enjoying his birthday at Disneyland and as we were heading to the park, My son and I were Screamed at by these people for Speaking Spanish.

She screamed several Racists remarks prior to me recording. I said “I’m sorry you think that way not everyone that speaks Spanish is Mexican, but since you’re so proud let me record you”. The individual in the black shirt agreed with everything the woman in the grey shirt was screaming. Once she heard me say I’ll record she stayed quiet. You can’t educate, you can’t inform, you can only expose them.

People can go about their day regardless of what language they hear one speak, but rather choose to be rude to a Two year old and his Mother. The bigger restroom stalls at that location are also for mothers with children and clearly have no handicap signs. Of course the immediate attempt to victimize themselves once they get caught in the act. Disneyland security said they couldn’t ask them to leave the park because it was only a verbal confrontation and to avoid any lawsuits from the other party.

I’m sharing this because Racism starts at home. People have access to several resources, but still make the conscious choice to continue to be ignorant. Never thought I’d experience this and I thought I’d ignore someone like this, but in the presence of my son no one will scream at him nor me what language to speak in‼️

Ramirez ended the post with an emoji of the Mexico flag.
