Sources indicate that the nighttime show’s previously announced January 8 through February 29, 2024 refurbishment period has been lengthened by one day; “World of Color – ONE” will now be closed through March 1, 2024 and will make its return to Disney California Adventure on March 2, 2024.

“World of Color – ONE” debuted at Disney California Adventure in January 2023 as part of the Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration. The show features moments from across Disney’s franchises like “Moana,” “Encanto,” “Star Wars,” and more, while telling a new story of how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change.

In February 2023, the finale of the show was updated because guests weren’t exactly sure when the show ended. The new ending was tightened up to lessen confusion.

To promote the release of Pixar’s “Elemental,” a limited-time pre-show inspired by the film titled “Elemental Connection” was added to the nighttime spectacular in June 2023.

In September 2023, fire effects returned to World of Color – One following the suspension of fire effects at Disney Parks worldwide after the Maleficent dragon was destroyed by a fire during a performance of “Fantasmic!” at Disneyland Park in April 2023.

You can watch our video of the original version of “World of Color – One,” and its updated ending below:

The original “World of Color” nighttime fountain, laser, and projection show, debuted in 2010. It was temporarily replaced by “World of Color: Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney” for Disneyland’s 60th anniversary “Diamond Celebration” in 2015-2016, and seasonally over the years with holiday versions. It is unknown when, or if, the original version of the show will return to Paradise Gardens Park.

“World of Color – Season of Light,” a holiday rendition of the nighttime show, is currently running at Disney California Adventure and will do so through January 7, 2024. A “Wish” pre-show featuring characters and songs from the newest Walt Disney Animation Studios film debuted alongside the show on November 17.
