Disney Shares 2023 Salaries for Iger and Chapek
According to Variety, the current Disney CEO saw his salary drop to $31.6 million in 2023 from $45.9 million in 2021, which was his last full year at the company before his short stint of retirement.
Iger’s 2023 package included a base salary of $865,385, with an additional $16.1 million in stock awards, $10 million in stock-option awards, a $2.14 million cash bonus, and $2.48 million in other compensation.
Iger was CEO of The Walt Disney Company from 2005 to 2020 and served as Executive Chairman during his retirement from 2020 through the end of 2021, when he returned to the CEO role following the ousting of Chapek. He is contracted to continue in his role as CEO through December 2026.
Chapek, who stepped into the role of CEO in 2020 and was fired in 2022, received a total compensation of $9.94 million in 2023. He was just appointed to the Board of Directors at Masimo, the medical tech company currently embroiled in a patent battle with Apple.
Today, The Walt Disney Company also revealed their nominations for the Board of Directors, as well as recommended that shareholders do not vote for Trian Fund Management’s two nominations, Nelson Peltz and James Rasulo.
