We first reported the rumor of the shop closing in December 2023, after several larger props and models in the store had been removed. Reports suggest that it may be transformed into an Epic Universe Preview Center, giving guests a chance to learn more about Universal Orlando’s new theme park set to open in the summer of 2025. Universal has not confirmed if this is the plan for the space, but it seems like a prime location. With very few official announcements made about the new park, there is still plenty of time for Universal Orlando to set up a preview center for Epic Universe.
Opened in 2021, The Universal Legacy Store offered not just merchandise but also displayed props and costumes from old Universal attractions. The store was created to celebrate over 30 years of Universal Orlando’s history, but the time has finally come to look toward the future.
All signs point to this being the location of the Epic Universe Preview Center. As with any rumor, things could change, so be sure to stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for the latest updates on this story. What do you think of the Universal Legacy Store closing?
