We are only 100 days away from Fantasy Springs opening at Tokyo DisneySea, so the Oriental Land Company has decided to excite guests by releasing new details about this eighth themed port for what is considered the best Disney theme park on Earth. In this post, we’ll chronicle exciting new updates on the world’s first Tangled attraction, Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival in Rapunzel’s Forest.
Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival in Fantasy Springs
New concept art for the interior of the Tangled boat ride attraction can be seen above, with guest’s heading towards the Kingdom of Corona in a boat. This vehicle was revealed by Disney Imagineers at the D23 Expo in 2022.
The current description of the ride is as follows:
In this attraction, guests enjoy a romantic gondola tour that leads to the annual Lantern Festival, where they follow Rapunzel as she experiences her “best day ever” and meets Flynn Rider for the first time. Guests will make their way towards the tower where Rapunzel lives, and will find her gazing out of her lofty tower window, singing “When Will My Life Begin,” as Flynn Rider watches on. Rapunzel escapes from the tower and with Flynn Rider at her side, the two develop a strong bond as they visit various locations featured in the film. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider go on to sing “I See the Light,” and guests are enveloped by the glow of countless lanterns filling the night sky.
The boat ride will be about 5 minutes in length and has been described by those on the project as “a really fantastic and immersive D-Ticket attraction.”
Fantasy Springs opens at Tokyo DisneySea on June 6th, 2024.
