Number 1 on the overall list for 2024 is Apple, followed by Microsoft and then Amazon. Disney fell six places from their number 6 position on the 2023 list.

Netflix topped the Media and Entertainment sector, kicking Disney down to number 4 after 20 years at the top.

Activist investor Nelson Peltz, who is vying for a seat on Disney’s Board of Directors, has suggested that Disney join forces with Netflix to achieve profitability.

The World’s Most Admired Companies list is based on a poll of 600+ company candidates and 3,720 executives, directors, and industry analysts. Korn Ferry consulting company and Fortune asked participants to rate companies on nine criteria including investment value, ability to attract talent, products, quality of management, and social responsibility. To make the list, a company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry.
