Nintendo did not announce an exact release date for Epic Mickey: Rebrushed.

The original platform game was developed by Junction Point Studios and published by Disney Interactive Studios for the Nintendo Wii in 2010. THQ Nordic is creating the Rebrushed version.

In the story of the game, the sorcerer Yen Sid was creating a world for forgotten Disney characters and concepts when his magic mirror lured Mickey Mouse into his workshop. The curious Mickey accidentally damaged the world, turning it into a Wasteland. Mickey is pulled into the world, where players control him and use paint and paint thinner to change the Wasteland and battle the Shadow Blot. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is featured, marking the character’s first appearance in a Disney project since the company acquired him in 2006. It was the first time Mickey and Oswald ever appeared together.
