Guest Arrested for Stealing Disney100 Pandora Charms from Uptown Jewelers at Magic Kingdom

Intesar Khudair Lafta, 45, who lives in Houston, was arrested in December and charged with grand theft. It took months for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to release public records which is why WDWNT is reporting on the incident now.

The situation unfolded at the world’s busiest theme park when a nearly $1,900 Pandora charm bracelet went missing from the display tray.

The sheriff’s report said an employee turned away “for a second” to get a different ring when the bracelet disappeared.

Lafta paid for two rings but hid the bracelet and then left the store, authorities said.

Video surveillance showed Lafta accompanied by a 13-year-old girl. The report doesn’t describe the relationship between Lafta and the minor or say if they are family members. The report also doesn’t indicate if the child was involved in the theft although Lafta and the child were both trespassed from Walt Disney World property.

Disney Security stopped Lafta and the teenager in the theme park after they left the jewelry store.

The bracelet had special limited edition charms celebrating The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary. The Orange County sheriff’s report listed the Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Cinderella, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and Dumbo charms as valued between $150 to $250 each.

The store manager said “all D100 Limited Edition Charms feature a 14K gold accent and a Pandora lab-created diamond,” according to the report.

The Pandora store manager wanted to press charges against Lafta. Lafta was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail. She does not have an attorney listed in court records. Her next court hearing is scheduled for March 28.

After Lafta was arrested, authorities turned the child over to her older adult brother.
