The Stave Church Gallery building inside the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT is currently undergoing refurbishment.
Stave Church Gallery Building Refurbishment
When we visited EPCOT on March 25, it appeared as though refurbishment on the building’s roof had just begun. All of the wooden shingles on the bottom portion of the front of the building had been completely removed.
Stave Church Gallery is home to the Gods of Vikings exhibit. Inside, guests can take a look at historical Norwegian items from the days of the Vikings. Guests can also learn more about some of the most famous ancient deities, including Thor, Odin, Loki, and Freya. The building itself is a replica of the Stave Church, a wooden Medieval architectural design commonly found in Norway.
The application of a new set of shingles is just getting started, with only one row and one additional shingle added.
Only roof underlayment is in place for the majority of this section.
So far, the rest of the building’s shingles have yet to be removed or replaced. The Stave Church Gallery remains open during its refurbishment.
