We saw the Astro Orbitor at Disneyland testing without riders this week. The ride has been closed for refurbishment since November with the reopening delayed multiple times.
Astro Orbitor Testing
The ride was spinning and several rockets lifted into the air, giving us our first look at the refurbished ride vehicles. For the refurbishment, the entire attraction was dismantled and removed from the park. It’s now been fully reconstructed, with all scrim and scaffolding gone.
The entire center column and base were spinning, each section moving at a different speed.
Like the rest of the attraction, the rockets look extra shiny with fresh paint. There were no significant design changes.
Watch our video of Astro Orbitor in motion below.
The Astro Orbitor landing page on the Disneyland website lists hours for the Tomorrowland attraction beginning this Friday, April 5, 2024.
