Disney shared the first clips from “Mufasa: The Lion King” during Wednesday’s annual shareholders meeting.

Disney Shares First Look at ‘Mufasa’

The footage has not been officially released but above is a screenshot of a young Mufasa in the film.

“Mufasa: The Lion King” is a prequel to the 2019 “live-action” remake of “The Lion King.” It follows a young Mufasa, voiced by Aaron Pierre. Kelvin Harrison Jr. will voice young Scar. Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, and John Kani are set to reprise their voice roles as Pumbaa, Timon, and Rafiki.

Barry Jenkins (“Moonlight”) directs the film from a screenplay by Jeff Nathanson. It will hit theaters on December 20, 2024.
