Four months after we first noticed a leak in the Gaston fountain at Magic Kingdom, Disney has finally repaired the damage.
Gaston Fountain at Magic Kingdom
The fountain was not operating on Tuesday but had been repaired. The damage was on the rock in the center of the fountain’s basin. Statues of Gaston and LeFou stand on this rock.
The patchwork was clear with one section of the rock more red than the rest. But it still looked much better than before. For reference, below are two photos we took on December 22, 2023, when we first noticed the leak.
A section of rock had been worn or scratched away, leaving a white spot.
Water streamed out of the side of this spot. Water is only supposed to come out of Gaston and LeFou’s barrels and mugs.
As of Wednesday, April 17, the fountain was operating again with no leak from the rock.
With water pouring over the rock, the patch isn’t as obvious. In the past, there have also been issues with the fountain’s spouts but both were working this week.
