Orlando, FL — TOM IS FOUND! On a recent episode of WDW News Tonight, one lucky contestant won the grand prize on our most ambitious game show ever “Where in the World is Tom Corless?”, sponsored by Be Our Guest Vacations. During the high-energy finale, contestant Matthew managed to find Tom and win the grand prize — a 4-night stay at a Walt Disney World Moderate Resort Hotel.
“Where in the World is Tom Corless?” Winner
“Where in the World is Tom Corless?” is based on the classic game and television show, “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” In WDWNT’s take, three contestants become detectives, attempting to find where on Walt Disney World property a kidnapper has hidden Tom away. Each episode begins with the introduction of a new villain who has snatched Tom.
Throughout the game’s three rounds, the contestants’ memory, theme park knowledge, and skills are tested through live skits, music, mini-games, and a massive unlabeled floor map of Walt Disney World property. To win, the final contestant must successfully identify a predetermined number of locations within 90 seconds to earn the grand prize: a 4-night stay at their choice of either Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, or Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, courtesy of Be Our Guest Vacations.
WDWNT spoke to Matthew after the big win to talk about his “Where in the World is Tom Corless?” experience. Here’s what he had to say:
I was excited when I first heard that WDW News Tonight was going to be doing “Where in the World [is Tom Corless?].” As a kid, I was a big fan of the original show [“Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?”]!

Matthew was already planning on visiting Walt Disney World during the weekend that the finale of the game would take place, and re-coordinated his plans to attend the live show of WDW News Tonight to participate.
It felt good to show that the final round can be won and prove it to fans of the show. I’m thrilled to take my family on a 4-night resort stay.
I have been a Disney Parks and WDWNT fan for years, but now I have a young daughter to share the magic with and winning this prize means getting to make special memories with my family.

Each episode of the game takes weeks of planning. WDWNT has an incredible team of dedicated individuals who created graphics, recorded voice-overs, built sets and props, wrote scripts, performed skits, created songs, and more.
