Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point officially opens on June 10, but we got a special preview of the new Disney Cruise Line destination. Lookout Cay entertainment includes “RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration.” The show, which takes place at Goombay Cultural Center, is one of many ways Lookout Cay honors its home of The Bahamas.

Here is how Disney describes the show:

With the call of a conch shell, a local Junkanoo Group will sweep you and your family up in RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration at Disney Lookout Cay, introducing you to the signature festival of The Bahamas filled with colorful parades of dancing and music. You’ll have the chance to experience the joy of an authentic Junkanoo Rush Out as performers parade to the Goombay Cultural Center, where Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Donald and Daisy Duck will dance along, encouraging guests to join the vibrant celebration that brings the heartbeat of The Bahamas to life.

The show starts with an emcee introducing the characters and getting the crowd pumped up.

The characters then descend into the crowd. The Junkanoo performers take to the cultural center stage in intricate, colorful costumes with instruments.

People in vibrant, colorful costumes perform in an outdoor tropical setting while spectators take photos. Palm trees and a clear blue sky are in the background.

They play music and dance for about five minutes. The characters dance with guests.

Junkanoo is an annual festival celebrated in The Bahamas, Jamaica, and Belize. The festival usually includes parades, costumes, dance, and drumming. It’s usually celebrated on Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, and other important holidays.

A lively crowd gathers, some in costumes and some holding cameras, in a sunny outdoor setting. The background features an ornate, colorful structure with palm trees visible.

As the performance wraps up, the Junkanoo performers leave and the characters return to the stage to say goodbye.
