REVIEW: New Mickey Waffles Replace Beloved Waffle Sandwiches at Magic Kingdom

Sleepy Hollow at Magic Kingdom has an updated menu including new Mickey waffle dishes and a new funnel cake with Nutella.

Sleepy Hollow Menu Updates

Sleepy Hollow Refreshments is near the Liberty Square bridge, across from Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe. The quick-service location has switched from separate breakfast and lunch/dinner menus to one all-day menu. Gone is the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread (Nutella). It’s been replaced by the Mickey Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread and Bananas.

Also new is the Funnel Cake with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, and Whipped Cream. The Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken-Waffle Sandwich has also been replaced with the Mickey Waffle with Sweet-and-Spicy Maple Chicken. Other mainstays include the Mickey Waffle with Berries and Cream, Funnel Cake with Strawberries and Powdered Sugar, and a Hand-dipped Corn Dog. Turkey Legs are available from Sleepy Hollow in the evenings.

Mickey Waffle with Berries and Cream – $8.49

Served with Powdered Sugar, Strawberries, Blueberries, and Whipped Cream

A hand holds a colorful paper plate with waffles topped with whipped cream, powdered sugar, and mixed berries, including strawberries and blueberries, reminiscent of a cozy morning in Sleepy Hollow.

The whipped cream and berries immediately make the waffle soggy. Eat this treat quickly to avoid a mushy Mickey waffle.

A half-eaten pastry with layers of cream and fruit filling rests on a colorful disposable plate, evoking the charm of Sleepy Hollow. Some fresh strawberries are placed on the side.

The blueberries were fresh but the strawberries were not. They were more like a berry sauce.

Mickey Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread and Bananas – $8.49

This is our favorite. Even our reporter who doesn’t like chocolate-hazelnut spread loved it.

The Nutella flavor matched perfectly with the banana. It’s not too sweet.

Funnel Cake with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, and Whipped Cream – $8.49

A hand holds a funnel cake topped with whipped cream on a colorful plate, with green bushes and a red walkway in the background, reminiscent of the charming scenery in Sleepy Hollow.

You can taste the oil from the frying process. This gave us heartburn, but it’s what you’d expect from a funnel cake.

The combination of chocolate-hazelnut and banana is great again. We prefer the Mickey waffle, but the funnel cake isn’t bad if you want something fried.

Mickey Waffle with Sweet-and-Spicy Maple Chicken – $11.59

Served with Honey-Sriracha Glaze and Parsley Flakes

A hand holding a decorative paper plate with breaded chicken strips on top of a Mickey Mouse-shaped waffle, set against the greenery and red pathway of Sleepy Hollow.

Without coleslaw, this is a downgrade from the previous Chicken Waffle Sandwich. It’s just a Mickey waffle with three chicken strips on top. It’s far from an authentic chicken and waffle experience.

A plate with chicken tenders on top of a waffle, garnished with herbs, evokes a rustic charm akin to Sleepy Hollow. The plate, adorned with colorful patterns, sits against a blurred outdoor setting bustling with people.

The chicken tenders are the same as any quick-service location, which we found to be quite disappointing.
