During the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, it was confirmed that the Russo Brothers will return to direct the fifth and sixth Avengers films.
The duo is no stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having previously directed “Captain America: Civil War” (2016), “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018), and “Avengers: Endgame” (2019).
The next ensemble Avengers films will be “Avengers: Doomsday,” coming in May 2026, followed by “Avengers: Secret Wars” in May 2027. Also returning for the films will be the cast of the upcoming “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” and Robert Downey Jr., who will be playing Doctor Doom. Downey Jr. previously portrayed Tony Stark/Iron Man in the MCU.
