In the early morning hours of July 8, first-time mom, Asha, gave birth to a baby boy. Just hours after birth, the newborn was nursing and greeting animal care teams.

Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Disney’s Animals, Science & Environment, noted a unique stripe pattern near the foal’s front leg. The horizontal stripe is similar to the pattern displayed by his grandma, Heidi.

On July 16, the baby boy above was born to second-time mom, Aziza. Aziza gave birth to Dot last year. Aziza and her new baby will be seen roaming free at the Harambe Wildlife Reserve later this year. For now, they’re bonding backstage.

There have now been four Hartmann’s mountain zebras born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom since the beginning of June. The others are Cada and Penne.
