As part of Disney’s ongoing collaboration with Epic Games, key figures from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Studios took to the stage at Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event to discuss what fans can look forward to with Disney’s new partnership with Epic Games.
Disney Villains in Fortnite
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Jennifer Lee shared her team’s excitement at the potential for this collaboration. She announced the following Disney Villains will come to Fortnite this fall: Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, and Captain Hook. They will be the first Disney Animation characters to join Fortnite.
The Incredibles in Fortnite
Pete Docter, Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer, said the collaboration with Epic will give his team the opportunity to experiment with original ideas in new formats. He announced that The Incredibles would come to Fortnite this fall. These are the game’s first Pixar characters.
IG-11 and Grogu Coming to Fortnite
Fortnite and Lucasfilm have already collaborated but more “Star Wars” characters are joining the game next week. Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni shared a sneak peek at IG-11, Moff Gideon, and the all-new Grogu dynamic Back Bling.
Marvel Studios x Fortnite
Marvel’s first Fortnite crossover was with the addition of the Infinity Gauntlet in 2018. The latest crossover event started inside Fortnite with a thrilling in-game conclusion to the current season of Battle Royale, where the power of Pandora’s Box re-emerged as the catalyst for an on-stage world premiere of a new cinematic and gameplay trailer revealing the origins of a new upcoming Marvel-themed season, presented on-stage at D23 by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
On Friday, August 16, the story continues in Fortnite Battle Royale’s Chapter 5, Season 4: Absolute Doom, featuring the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom.
