UPDATE: The 11:45 a.m. Disney Adventure Friends cavalcade was able to perform.
A sewage incident has shut down most of two lands at Magic Kingdom and put a stop to the cavalcade for the time being.
On the morning of August 3, a sewage spill of unknown origin forced the closure of large parts of Liberty Square and Frontierland. As of 11:21 a.m., both lands remained closed to guests. The 10:30 performance of the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade was canceled, and Cast Members told us the 11:45 a.m. performance will be canceled as well.
They hope to have the problem resolved before the 3:00 p.m. Festival of Fantasy Parade. Guests are advised to continue consulting the My Disney Experience app to track when attractions reopen and check the status of the parade. They are hoping to reopen both lands fully today but do not have an estimated time.
At the time of publication, the affected attractions include Country Bear Musical Jamboree, the Hall of Presidents, and the Liberty Square Riverboat. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe remains open, and guests can access the Frontierland station for the Walt Disney World Railroad as well as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (though it was also temporarily closed for unrelated reasons).
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe was closed in order to open a backstage access gate that would allow pump trucks to enter the land and access the sewage system.
A similar incident occurred in 2023, eleven months ago to the day. On September 3, 2023, most of Frontierland (including Country Bear Jamboree) was closed due to a ruptured sewage line. That incident was resolved quickly, though it involved a smaller area of the park.
