A tornado warning has been issued by the National Weather Service until 9:15 a.m. for the area surrounding Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort

Emergency Alert message from the National Weather Service warning of a Tornado Warning until 9:15 AM EDT. Advises taking shelter in a basement or sturdy building and avoiding being outdoors, in mobile homes, or vehicles. This impacts areas even outside popular destinations like Walt Disney World.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for areas of Central Florida that include Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. The statement is as follows:

TORNADO WARNING in this area until 9:15 AM EDT. Take shelter now in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Check media.

Severe weather from Hurricane Debby is expected to impact Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort throughout the day. A tornado watch, severe weather advisory, and wind advisory are each in effect for most of August 5, 2024.
